The SFA embraces the Rangers crisitunity

Early on Saturday morning, Scottish football reverberated with the news that Stewart Regan was as mad as hell, and he wasn’t going to take it anymore. The chief executive of the Scottish Football Association had apparently marched along the plush corridors of Hampden Stadium – banging on the door of the Scottish Premier League’s embattled offices, then lifting up the dust sheet covering the crumpled cardboard box that serves as the headquarters for the distantly forgotten Scottish Football League – and demanded a fundamental reorganisation of Scotland’s football system. Presumably, no one pointed out that the word ‘reorganisation’ implied a level of coherence and considered thinking hitherto absent throughout the 140-year history of football governance in this country, otherwise Regan would now be publicly demanding a fundamental organisation of Scottish football.
